I used Drago[knit]fly's tutorial. instead of doing the cut off the triangles thing, which never seems to work well for me, i cut rectangles out of the sides instead, making it easy to line up the boxy seam corners. i used some alexander henry heath for the exterior. as always, i have trouble coming up with manly fabric combinations. hopefully this is ok.

for the interior, i used one of the fat quarters i got from spoonflower. this fabric reminds me of my dad. he used to own and operate a gas station in a tiny little town, so i bet he utilized a sign very much like this once upon a time.
That box bag looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteVery manly! I'm sure he'll dig it. One of the little corner stores here still uses that sign and clock!
ReplyDeleteThat's a clever design.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a great, manly combination. I really love that Spoonflower fabric.
