This is the Kimono PJ top from Little Stitches for Little Ones. i like that this top has raglan sleeves rather than true kimono sleeves. i made the 6 month size because it'll probably be awhile before i accumulate enough items to send a package. i found this pattern kind of annoying, mostly because of the bias tape. the second time around it wasn't as bad, but i was definitely ready to be done by the end.
These are the Quick change trousers from Handmade Beginnings. i really liked this pattern. i absolutely love that it's reversible and that you can easily distinguish the front from the back.
the first pair in Remix i followed the instructions to the letter and finished all the seams on my Horizon. i finally learned how to use the overcast foot, hooray! it's so slow to use though. the next morning i finally got off my lazy ass and rethreaded my serger and the next 2 pairs went much more quickly. even though you make 2 sets for each pair of pants it goes fast, especially by sewing each step in tandem. i wish i had a pair of reversible pj pants. so so cute.
evidently Nicole has giant boat feet just like my brother, so i might have to make some big booties or socks. now that i know they have a girl, i want to make some cute dresses. i'm open to recommendations for cute patterns, especially ones with a big sizing range that i can reuse as she gets older.

Oh, goodness. So much cuteness! I've never tried either of these patterns, but will definitely keep them in mind for future gifts. I especially love the pants. And I'm with you; I'd love a reversible pair for myself.
ReplyDeleteThose are the cutest outfits. I really love how you put the different prints together! Assembly line sewing is perfect for little ones too. I was lazy threading my SM and serger and would sew all the things in the same colored thread before I'd change. ;)

ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky little girl! I made the Little Jumper Dress (I think that's the name) from the AB book, and it turned out really cute. One thing I recommend when making dresses for little ones: Make size 12 or 18 months. I made the mistake of doing a 6 month size because I was antsy, but if they aren't walking yet, it's really impractical because they can't crawl in them very easily. Just FYI!
