i used a different number of chains for the blanket and omitted any kind of border/edging. i'm a fan of letting the stripes of a ripple blanket stand on their own. i did 2 row stripes throughout. i would work a few rows and then weave in the ends as i went. it was much less painful than waiting until the end to do them all. i wanted to use all washable wools since the blanket is for a baby. it's lightweight and soft.

it's going to be very hard to let this one go. i adore it. fortunately i've already started another crochet blanket just for me. yes, i have enough sock yarn leftovers for a third blanket. i'm not sure whether that fact is sad or fantabulous.
Oh, Sara, it's beautiful! I love it, and way to go with using up those scraps! If you ever run out of sock yarn, let me know and I'll send you some leftovers. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to use them up.
ReplyDeletethat is really gorgeous!what a great way to use up leftover sock yarn.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow, you finished that fast! I love crocheted blankets and learned crochet first too. It hurts my hands though, so I don't know if I will go back to it.
