givmo cashmere sweaters

Spicy's brother started a new site, Givmo. You can list items that you want to give away and also claim items from other people. All you pay is shipping. It just so happens that I was the first non-test winner of an item--a listing for 6 size large cashmere sweaters. I ended up paying $10 for all six.

they are all the same style--the classic crew pullover cable and rib pattern. The fit out of the box actually wasn't all that bad except for the sleeves.

my first refashion was to slenderize the sides and under the arms and shorten the sleeves. I used a pullover that I already own as a template. I wish I had shortened the sleeves a bit more though.

To spice it up, I handstitched a ribbon down the front and crocheted 2 motifs from Beyond the Square. The pink is linen and the white is merino sock yarn.

I really like how this one turned out and I'll be back tomorrow with another refashion. Also--i'm wearing my new pants, but I'll get to that later.
