this is a little less than 8oz of superwash merino from Alchemy Fibre Arts.
i plied another scrap skein from my leftover singles and carded and spun a little 1oz superwash merino/viscose batt so i definitely paid my February spinning dues.
the only thing that i did not like is that this fiber came with an extremely strong fruity smell that gave me a headache. and the yarn still smells even after its bath. the yarn also bled quite a bit when i washed it but i expected that might happen. i think next time i might ask if it's possible to skip the smelly-ness and if not--i'll try to deal.
i'll probably be buying more superwash fiber in the future for baby appropriate things. i've already spun these 2 braids up to use in a sweater/vest thingie. the colors are so dazzlingly bright. one day i'll revisit this shop and grab more for a pair of eye-searing socks. because one can never have enough.
It's so beautiful! Wow, you're right, it is bright. Was it a fruity smell like when you dye with kool-aid or stronger than that?
