Your kitty will look dashing in this scholarly v-neck vest featuring mock cable rib and a simple fish motif. The vest is worked in the round from the bottom-up to the armholes and then flat for the back and front, joined at the shoulders using the 3-needle bind-off. Not just for laughs, this vest is a low stress way to try knitting in the round, 2-color knitting, short-row shoulder shaping, and the sewn bind-off. This pattern is written for my 20lb cat, and may need to be adjusted for more average sizes.

Gauge is 18st/24rows = 4 inches on #8 needles
Yarn Requirements: 170yds / 155m MC, 60yds / 55m CC
Size: Big 'N Tall

20lb! blinkin' heck, mine are under 7! Love the vest though.
ReplyDeleteThat is really cute. I can't see any of my three big boys wearing it though but they are about the right size.
ReplyDeleteThis has got to be the first picture I've ever seen where the cat is wearing a garment and not looking homicidal. Very, very cute.
ReplyDeleteThat's priceless! I just love it, esp. the cute little red fish. And your cat looks amazingly cheerful about wearing a sweater. :-)
ReplyDeleteOMG - little fishies and cables - he is stylin'!
ReplyDeleteThat is adorable - Does he mind you putting it on? Will he keep it on?
Well its good to know the vest is so slimming, he doesn't look a pound over 12 :-)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this, and I think I want to make this for myself.
ReplyDeleteOh that is the cutest thing I've seen for a long time - haha!
ReplyDeleteVery well made, and your kitty is adorable. :)
